We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Scientist to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in statistical analysis, machine learning, and data mining. They should be able to analyze complex data sets, extract valuable insights, and provide data-driven recommendations. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive business growth, improve performance, and optimize decision-making.
The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in genomic data analysis, proficiency in bioinformatics tools and databases, and strong programming skills in languages such as Python and R. They should be able to manage large datasets, develop and implement innovative algorithms, and interpret complex results to support research objectives.
DATA SCIENTIST
  • Responsibilities:
    • Research and experiment with new methods to integrate raw genomic data into predictive models
    • Conduct exploratory data analysis and data mining to uncover insights from genomic and clinical data
    • Evaluate and visualize machine learning models for scientific publications and patents
    • Communicate results and insights to a diverse team of biologists, bioinformaticians, and computer scientists
    • Maintain and update the libraries and tools used for machine learning model development
    • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in data science, machine learning, and biotechnology
    • Contribute to the development of new methods and tools to help the organization stay at the cutting edge of the field
  • Requirements:
    • At least 2 years of experience with machine learning and artificial intelligence
    • Ability to program in Python (R, Scala is a plus)
    • Familiarity with Python data processing stack: Scikit-learn, Pandas, Numpy, PyTorch, Tensorflow
    • Outstanding data analysis and visualization skills (Matplotlib, Plotly, Seaborn, Dash, etc.)
    • The candidate’s additional advantage would be an experience with big data processing (Spark, pyspark), knowledge of data warehouse systems, Kubernetes, deep learning, Sql, Bash or familiarity with cloud computing (AWS, GCP) or batch processing (e.g. slurm)
    • Proactive attitude and excellent communication skills
    • Advanced spoken and written English
SENIOR BIOINFORMATICIAN
  • Responsibilities:
    • Develop and lead the implementation of pipelines, tools, and infrastructure for data analysis from thousands of samples (WGS, WES, RNAseq)
    • Coordinate and lead the work of junior team members to ensure project timelines and deliverables are met
    • Write clear and maintainable code in Python/R/NextFlow, analytical notebooks, and maintain good coding practices
    • Use Docker containers and Kubernetes to optimize and streamline data analysis processes
    • Collaborate with other teams to prepare analysis reports for both internal use and external clients
    • Create scientific reports, presentations, and publications to communicate findings to stakeholders and partners
    • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in data science and biotechnology to ensure the company remains at the forefront of the field
  • Requirements:
    • At least 5 years of experience in large-scale NGS data processing, including WGS/WES/RNAseq
    • Proven ability to program in Python or R, and experience with Nextflow; strong command of bash, Docker, Git
    • Good understanding of Linux (Ubuntu) environment, familiarity with best practices and data engineering tools
    • Experience with Kubernetes and Cloud environments such as AWS
    • Excellent communication, collaboration, and team-working skills
    • Proactive attitude, taking responsibility for outcomes, and demonstrating excellent organizational and planning skills.
